An intimate and riveting story of the struggles of two Brazilian teenagers trying to scale the rarefied, and still predominantly white, heights of classical ballet, we follow Isabela and Irlan as they live and train in one of the violent favelas in Rio di Janiero. Built on attaining Olympian levels of physical stamina and grace, ballet has little room for human failings as these two remarkable young performers dance a desperate duet of heartbreak and beauty and experience the politics of the ballet world.
